Massage therapy has a wide range of beneficial effects on all levels of the body—physical, mental and emotional. Whether you are trying to heal from chronic back pain, training for an athletic competition, having a baby or escaping the stresses of everyday life, our massage therapists will use the appropriate techniques tailored to your needs.

Our massage therapists are trained in a variety of techniques, including:

Thai Massage

Traditional Thai Massage is a form of healthcare in Thailand. The primary goal of Thai Massage is to release stagnant energy and facilitate the flow of energy throughout the body.  During Thai Massage and Bodywork you receive gentle, rhythmic pressure along the energy lines of the body, passive-assisted stretching, joint compression and decompression, and range of motion work.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a combination of acupoints which are compressed by the practitioners thumbs forearms and knees.  Also included in the treatment is gradual and sustained stretch, gentle rocking and rotations of joints.

Rolfing/Structural Integration

This work is generally done in an initial series of 10-13 sessions that includes fascial (connective tissue) manipulation, client education, and movement work. Some of the goals of the work are to release, realign and balance the body in gravity, allowing for movement that feels freer, more integrated, and more expressive. While the focus is holistic rather than targeting symptoms of pain/discomfort, clients often find that their chronic pain complaints lessen or disappear altogether while going through the series. In addition, newly found awareness, perception, and freedom of movement lead to benefits they hadn’t previously imagined.

Craniosacral Therapy

CST is a light touch technique that works with the central nervous system. It relieves tensions deep in the body to relieve pain such as headaches, TMJ,  and emotional trauma. The whole body can relax and self-correct.
