About Pilates

 
Developed by Joseph H. Pilates in the 1920’s Pilates is a system of exercise that targets the deep muscles of the abdominals and spine to strengthen your body from the inside out. Pilates focuses on strengthening the core while working with correct alignment and biomechanics. Our expert instructors will design a workout that fits your goals, whether it be running a marathon, staying fit, or living pain free.

Privates

One-on-One

Working one-on-one, your instructor will customize a workout to meet your unique needs. You will first learn how to apply proper biomechanics in your work out, you will then start applying that to your goals, before long you are standing stronger, sitting taller, and moving with ease.

Small Group Reformer

Limited Class Size

Our Small Group Reformer classes offer the opportunity to experience the benefits of Pilates Reformer in a small group environment. Both CAC members and non-members can register for classes.

  • Class sizes are limited to six people to allow for more personal attention

Semi-Privates

Two-on-One

Working two-on-one your instructor will design a workout to accommodate the needs of both you and your partner.
We recommend clients start with privates before moving on to semi-privates so you can learn how to modify and vary exercises to get the most out of your workout.

Pre-Natal Sessions

Moms to be

Pilates during pregnancy delivers a great combination of stretching and strengthening. Your instructor will focus on strengthening the important areas of the pregnant body (ie. Pelvic floor muscles, inner thighs, glutes, postural muscles) in a safe and gentle manner.

We offer pre-natal private, semi private and small group classes.

Studio 1002 Class Descriptions

Reformer Class: Move. Stretch. Align. This class offers the traditional Pilates Reformer workout we all know and love. Your instructor will guide you through a great workout using both the Reformer and Tower. Pace: moderate

Reformer Revive: Wake up with Pilates. This class is intended to get you moving in the morning and leave you feeling energized, aligned and ready to start your day. Pace: moderate

Restorative ReformerAlign and Restore. This class will utilize the Reformer and other small equipment to strengthen your body. You’ll discover where your body currently is, and how to restore it to its best alignment for optimal function.  Pace: moderate

Pilates for Back Care:  This specialty class is designed to improve posture and alignment while reducing tension and pain. This class will focus on strengthening the abdominals and deep core to improve range of motion and overall back health. Pace is slow to moderate with a focus on stability and control

CoreAlign/ Bodhi: What a great combination! Both the CoreAlign and Bodhi utilize gravity and resistance to stimulate core stability while performing challenging exercises, increasing flexibility and working on cardio endurance. Pace:  moderate to fast with a focus on whole-body strength and dynamic flexibility.

Jump board Interval:  Get your heart rate up without stressing the joints, all the while challenging core strength and coordination. This class will focus on core endurance with intermittent Jump board work utilizing the Pilates Jump board and Reformer. Pace: moderate to fast-paced with a focus on cardio endurance and core strength. 

EXO Chair / MOTR: Kick your Pilates practice up a notch with this exciting new interval class.  This class will test your coordination and balance as we move from MOTR to EXO Chair. Pace: moderate to fast with a focus on endurance, and dynamic stability.   Recommended for the more experienced Pilates student.  If you struggle with balance or having any issues with your feet studio shoes are recommended.

Mixed Equipment: Mix it up and have some fun! Your instructor will program a great Pilates workout utilizing different pieces of equipment. We offer everything from Bodhi, MOTR, EXO Chair, Reformer, Tower, Orbits and Weights.  This class is great for building tone, strength and endurance. Pace: moderate to fast.

Pilates for Teens: If your teen is dealing with Text Neck, Back Pack Pain, or just overall bad posture…this class is for them. We will be focusing on core strength, alignment, flexibility and postural awareness (you will no longer have to tell them to sit up straight.) Great for ages 10-14yrs. Pace: Moderate

Pilates for Buff Bones- If you have Osteoporosis, Osteopenia or back issues of any kind…this class is for you. Your instructor will use bone strengthening techniques created by Rebekah Rothstein, while emphasizing alignment and balance. Pace: Beginner to moderate
