Our dance fitness offerings range from ballet classes to hip hop dance classes to Zumba and other fitness dance formats. If you are looking for a fun way to meet your fitness goals, try a dance fitness class at CAC. These (like all group fitness classes) are free for Chicago Athletic Clubs members. Dance Class Types

Ballet Burn

Raise the bar on your workout. Ballet Burn is a results driven fitness class utilizing hand weights and ballet based movement to create lean lines and improve flexibility and posture. No experience, or barre needed.

 

Barre

Designed to effectively strengthen, tone and balance the entire body, these are fat burning workouts that integrate the use of the ballet barre and various props. Each class includes several highly effective sequences of toning and resistance exercises with an emphasis on the core, arms and lower body. These are challenging, no impact classes that produce maximum results

BODYJAM™

BODYJAM is the cardio workout with an addictive fusion of the latest dance styles and hottest new sounds, putting the emphasis on having fun as much as on breaking a sweat. If you want to dance, there’s nothing like it. House, Hip-Hop, Drum n Bass, trap, all styles of electronic dance music, it’s the soul of BODYJAM. This is legit!.

Cardio Jam

This cardio dance class is a workout designed around repetition. Rock out with non-stop movement to great tunes while feeling the burn.

Dance Latin Groove

This is dance fitness movement to Latin rhythms including salsa, cha cha and mambo, as you groove to great Latin beats.

 

Hip Hop/Funk

Get your workout in while dancing with this straight-forward, funky, hip hop street dance class. Groove and burn calories, as each move is broken down to its most simple form. No dance experience needed, just a fun attitude. Movements are mostly low impact.

Nia

This high-powered energizing workout gives you a new body and a new life. Nia is a mind-body technique for all fitness levels blending concepts from jazz, ballet, martial arts, yoga and other forms of movement into expressive, energetic, creative exercise.

WERQ™

WERQ is the fiercely fun dance fitness workout class based on pop, rock and hip-hop music taught by certified fitness professionals. The signature WERQ warm-up previews the dance steps used in class and the signature WERQ cool-down includes balance and yoga inspired poses. Zumba®

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba class is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness party that’s moving millions of people toward joy and health.

Zumba Gold

Zumba Gold is designed for the active older adults beginning exercise or those who may be limited physically. Done at a lower intensity and slower pace but with the same great styles of Latin music and dance.

Zumba Toning

Zumba Toning blends body sculpting techniques with Zumba moves for a great calorie burning, strength-training combination. Maraca-like Zumba Toning Sticks are used to enhance rhythm, build strength and tone all the target zones.

Get the most out of your dance fitness workout

  • Please note all classes require reservations. Book your spot on our new mobile app up to 24 hours in advance.
  • Please arrive on time for the warm-up and stay through the entire class.
  • Please inform instructors of any special considerations (pregnancy, diabetes, recent surgery, etc.). CAC recommends a physical examination before undertaking any exercise program.
  • Instructors will be substituted from time-to-time. Any substitutions, deletions or additions to the printed schedules will be posted at the front desk.
