Prenatal Classes and Postnatal Classes in Chicago

The benefits of exercise during pregnancy are extensive, even if you haven’t had an established exercise regimen previously. Staying in shape with prenatal fitness classes can help you prepare for labor and delivery, improve sleep, reduce stress, and help you get back in shape after birth. Our Chicago postnatal classes are a great transition back to working out. Prenatal and postnatal classes also give you the opportunity to connect with other women experiencing the same journey as you, helping you build a community of fitness and wellness support during and after your pregnancy. The knowledgeable and supportive prenatal and postnatal fitness class instructors at Chicago Athletic Clubs welcome all members to these classes, especially expecting mothers and those who have recently given birth. Our fitness professionals know how physically challenging pregnancy and delivery can be for women, which is why we created classes tailored to help.

Our certified Chicago wellness experts will guide you through low-impact exercises designed to promote your health. We can also help you find any modifications you may need to make your workout effective, safe, and comfortable. CAC offers other services that may benefit expecting mothers and those who have recently given birth, including massage therapy, nutritionist support, and more. Chicago Athletic Clubs members can access unlimited Chicago Prenatal and Postnatal fitness classes. You can also give these classes a try with a free one-day guest pass. Pre/Postnatal Class Types

Pre/Postnatal Studio Strength

This multi-level muscular endurance strength training class is as challenging as our Muscle Definition classes, but is designed to meet the physical needs and demands of pregnancy, labor and delivery. Special emphasis is placed on the abdominal, pelvic floor and back musculature. An All-Club-Access class.

Prenatal Yoga

This class consists of stretching, strengthening, breathing and relaxation techniques specifically designed for pregnant women at all stages of pregnancy. Feel better and stronger. No prior knowledge of yoga is required. An All-Club-Access class.

Get the most out of your prenatal and postnatal workouts

  • Please note some classes require advance sign up at the Customer Service Desk to reserve a spot.
  • Please arrive on time for the warm-up and stay through the entire class.
  • Please inform instructors of any special considerations (pregnancy, diabetes, recent surgery, etc.). CAC recommends a physical examination before undertaking any exercise program.
  • Instructors will be substituted from time-to-time. Any substitutions, deletions or additions to the printed schedules will be posted at the front desk.
