Sam first discovered Les Mills after joining a gym on a whim in Arlington, VA post-college. As someone who was a bit intimidated by the seemingly professional lifters and gym-goers, group fitness quickly became a way to keep her motivated and accountable when it came to sticking to a healthy routine. After years of attending 6 a.m. classes and having to stop herself from doing choreographed Body Pump moves in public, Sam decided to get certified herself. Not only does it enable her to help others find their inner athlete (while also having fun), it continuously encourages her to step out of her comfort zone in front of others in a way she’d normally be afraid to do. You can always count on leaving her class with a smile — and of course, a little bit of sweat.
