Weight lifting and playing sports have been part of my life since I can remember. Being is EMS/The Fire Service for 19 years and working as a Chicago Firefighter/Paramedic for nearly ten years made strength training a top priority in my adult life.
My true health and fitness journey began the moment I was diagnosed with cognitive heart failure at 33 years old. Being told I needed a heart transplant with 48 hours to live was life changing, to say the least. That moment was truly life or death. With a second chance at life, I chose to prioritize health/fitness. I lost 126 pounds and began a strict workout routine. With the weight loss, exercise regime, healthy lifestyle, I was able to recover my heart functions and gave myself a new lease on life.
Today I am grateful to have the opportunity to help as many people as possible as they change their own lives through health and fitness. Personal training is my way of saving lives today. Becoming a Chicago Firefighter was my childhood dream that I was lucky enough to accomplish and was absolutely incredible. These days I get to create all new dreams/aspirations and "pay it forward" through my second chance at life.
