Liza has been an EAC indoor cycling instructor since 1998. She is certified through Sally Edward’s Heart Rate Zone, Schwinn, Madd Dogg, and Nautilus. An ACE personal trainer specializing in recovery from athletic injuries, Liza also has completed specialized training through the Pink Ribbon program for breast cancer survivors, as well in Child and Adolescent Exercise, mat pilates, boxing, bootcamp, TRX and other formats. When not trekking somewhere remote, Liza is likely out biking anywhere on the North Shore, or sweep rowing and sculling with New Trier Women’s Masters’. She holds a black belt in shotokan karate, continuing her nearly 20 year commitment to the martial arts by training at least 3x a week. Liza as a 200 hour RYT, has taught yoga since 2001, and is a 2002 graduate of Moksha Yoga’s teacher training,has completed Ana Forrest’s Advanced Teacher Training as well as ashtanga and Yin and viniyoga courses with senior instructors. Liza insists that the best part of her job at EAC is the wonderful students she meets every week, many of whom have become close friends. Her teaching style is form based, but geared to allowing everyone to “ride your own ride!” She thinks spin/yoga stretch is the perfect combination – the ultimate ‘joy ride.’ In her spare times she serves on the HSDC and Joffrey Ballet Board of Directors as well as the Chicago Parks Foundation.
