Keri Golembeski grew up in Wilmette, IL and has been swimming competitively since age 6. She was an avid age group swimmer and then swam on the varsity swim team at New Trier High School. She was co-captain of the team during her senior year when New Trier won the Illinois state swim meet. She went on to swim for Tufts University in Medford, MA. As a Jumbo, she specialized in sprint freestyle events and competed in the NESCAC championship meet. Keri is an experienced open-water swimmer as well, having competed in open water swims in Chicago, Madison, Boston, and New York City. These include a 10k swim in the Hudson River that she won in 2013 and many Swim Across America charity swims. Once the ice on Lake Michigan melts, Keri complements her Masters swimming with open water swims at Ohio St beach in Chicago.
In high school and college, Keri taught swim lessons to local kids and adults and coached age group swimmers at New Trier Swim Club. Keri joined the CAC Masters team as a swimmer in 2015 and was excited to become a coach for the team in 2016. Her favorite parts of coaching are helping swimmers improve in technique and speed, Saturday morning practices, and relays.
