Antonio Santoro

Antonio_Santoro_bw.jpgAntonio is from Rio de Janeiro and started to swim at the age of 7. During his teenage years, Antonio represented Brazil in several international age group competitions. In 2004 he received an offer to swim for Southern Illinois University where he became Missouri Valley Conference record holder, 7-time champion and was nominated Swimmer of the Year in 2006 and 2007. 

He is the CAC Masters Swim Team Head Coach since November 2009 and built the team from 20 swimmers to more than a hundred. His coaching style is a mix of the stroke technique concepts learned from legendary coach Richard Quick and workout approach inspired by coaches David Salo, Brett Hawke, and Bob Bowman.

Ironman Wisconsin Finisher (Top 5 overall out of the water)
US Masters National Meet Champion (Age Group and Overall 2012, 2014)
Illinois Masters Swimming Association Record Holder in several events
FINA World Cup finalist (200 fly) – 2005
Multination International Meet Bronze Medalist – 2004
USMS Masters Coach Certification – Level I & II
