Testimonials
As a regular exerciser, I had never really considered working with a personal trainer. However, when LVAC opened, I decided to give it a try. I was interested in having someone vary my regular routine and push me to work on some of the exercises that I really did not like to do on my own (squats!). I signed up for two sessions and figured that I would then take what I learned in those two sessions and incorporate it into what I was already doing. What I did not expect was to enjoy it as much as I did. Valerie turned out to be much more of a teacher and motivator than I expected in a personal trainer. Her creativity in varying the weekly routines and always challenging me with new exercises has kept me coming back. I have gone from my initial two sessions to my second set of eight sessions. Additionally, the technique and form that I have learned in working with Valerie has also translated into improvements in my other gym workouts as well in my sporting activities outside of the gym. I would highly recommend Valerie for both those who are looking to begin an exercise routine and for those old dog exercisers who are looking to learn some new tricks. Pamela Eskra Member, LVAC
I am privileged to have worked with Valerie Williams since joining LVAC in May of 2008. Valerie has been a consistent source of motivation, support, and camaraderie. In working with Valerie, I have experienced significant improvement in strength, endurance, and muscle tone. I have also benefited greatly from her specific knowledge of postural alignment and core strength. I greatly value our weekly sessions, not only as an opportunity to make progress towards meeting my fitness goals, but also as an opportunity to unwind from the stress of work and shift my focus to my well-being. I look forward to continuing to work with Valerie! Amy Proger Member, LVAC
Let's look at the results of my time at LVAC and you, Valerie. When I started at LVAC and my training with you I weighed in at 216 pounds on my 5'5" frame, hadn't regularly exercised in over 15 years, was winded and out of shape with the simplest of amount of exertion, on blood pressure medication and thought I was too old (57 years) to get in shape. I was afraid to take an exercise class - embarrassed by my body and my lack of coordination. To top that off I had knee surgery which limited my mobility. You were recommended to me as a positive, friendly, easy to work with trainer. I thought the most I could hope for working with a trainer was to be healthier. Well, you certainly have exceeded those expectations! Now seven months later the only thing that is the same is that I'm still 57years old. I'm down over 50 pounds, off my blood pressure medication (my doctor is thrilled!), am in good shape, feel coordinated (most of the time!), regularly enjoy classes at LVAC, have a much better outlook on the future and feel that I can sustain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life. Your upbeat personality coupled with gentle persuasion and expertise at creating work outs specifically addressing my issues has worked wonders. I couldn't have even dreamed to be where I am today without your influence. You should feel very proud of what you helped me accomplish! Joan Phillips Member, LVAC
I particularly appreciate how thoughtful Valerie is about her work. Each session she comes prepared with a plan structured around my specific goals and abilities. The variety keeps our sessions interesting and keeps me engaged and challenged. But more than just putting me through exercises, Valerie is committed to ensuring I'm learning and benefiting more holistically from the experience. She explains the purpose the exercises and takes time to make sure my form is correct. As a result of her dedication, I'm not only stronger and more toned but also much more aware of my body and its capabilities. Ann Schneider Member, LVAC
