EAC Spring 2012 Swim Registration Form

Sessions are 6-8 weeks in length. Classes meet once weekly. Classes are broken down by age and level. For more information click here, or contact Andrew McKone at ext 277.

Age
PARENT/INFANT: 4-18 months. Minimum enrollment 4, maximum 12. One parent must participate. Water orientation only.

PARENT/TODDLER: 18-36 months. Minimum enrollment 3, maximum 6. One parent must participate. Water orientation only.

PRESCHOOL: 3-4 years. Minimum enrollment 3, maximum 4. Parent must be present during class.

YOUTH: 5-10 years. Minimum enrollment 3, maximum 5. Parent must be present during class. 

Group Swim Levels
Please note that instructors reserve the right to move students if they are placed in an inappropriate class, even if that class is not convenient to your schedule. To avoid this inconvenience, please read level descriptions carefully and place your child in the appropriate class.

P1 : Beginning preschool class, ages 3-4. Students don't require any knowledge of swimming.

P2 : Intermediate preschool class, ages 3 - 4. Students are expected to blow bubbles and have some working knowledge of stroking and kicking.

Y1 : Beginning youth class, ages 5-10. Students don't require any knowledge of swimming.

Y2 : Intermediate youth class, ages 5-10. Students are expected to swim at least 10 yards (1/2 length) unassisted, with face in the water. Should have some knowledge of backstroke and breaststroke.

Y3 : Advanced youth class, ages 5-10. Students are expected to swim at least 20 yards (1 length) front crawl, 10 yards of backstroke and 10 yards of breaststroke. 

January/February/March 2012

Parent/Infant Swim
(4-18 months)

This is simply a water orientation class. Children are given an opportunity to become familiar with sights and sounds associated with being in the pool. Parents and children sing songs that encourage the children to use their arms and legs in the water. No true swimming techniques are taught. A parent must be in the water with his/her child.  One of the following diaper choices MUST be used or the instructor will deny entry into the class:

•A disposable swim diaper.  They are available at Target, Wal-Mart, etc. 
      NO DISPOSABLE DIAPERS ARE ALLOWED IN POOL!

•A cloth diaper with a leak proof outer panty.

•A swim diaper with a leak proof inner pants

Refunds/Credits are subject to a non-refundable fee. No prorating or late entry into classes. Make-up classes are subject to availability in other classes.

Preschool

The ratio for this class is 4 children to 1 instructor. Please make sure that you are putting your child into a class that teaches his/her level of instruction. Stroke School

This is the most advanced class EAC offers for children.  It is geared for those interested in eventually joining a competitive swim team.   Experienced coaches and instructors teach advanced techniques and drills in each hour long class.

Kids Group Swim Guidelines

• All classes are taught in lap pool. Lap pool temperature is set at 82 degrees.
• Please make every effort to make sure that your child wants to attend this class. Lap pool temperature is set at 82 degrees. PLEASE consider you child's schedule, including day-care, naps, meal times, other classes, BEFORE registering for a class. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALL REFUND REQUESTS ARE SUBJECT TO A NON-REFUNDABLE AMOUNT EQUAL TO HALF OF THE REGISTRATION FEE. After this fee is taken out only a pro-rated amount will be refunded to the registrant.
• Make up classes are dealt with on an individual basis. Make up classes are only possible if space is available in another class of the same level and are not guaranteed.
• Pre-registration will be handled through Dana and will be offered on a limited basis. Pre-registration will be allowed for TWO consecutive sessions allowing your child to be in 3 sessions in a row. Once the 3rd session has been completed you MUST go through open registration. You may only pre-register for one session at a time.
• No late entry/pro-rating of sessions will be allowed. Once the first class of any session has begun, the session is closed regardless of number of participants. This rule is meant to keep the integrity of the class and the instructor to child ratio.
• Waiver: A waiver must be filled out by the parent/guardian at beginning of each new swim session.

WHERE DO YOU PLACE YOUR CHILD?
The group swim instructors reserve the right to move a child into the appropriate class and/or class level if the child is placed in the wrong class and/or class level by the parent. If a space is not available in the appropriate class, the child will not be allowed to participate and money will be refunded. It is very important that you read about the class levels and place your child accordingly. If unclear on the levels, please contact Andrew McKone at 847-866-6190, ext 277.
