When did you start climbing?
The first time I climbed was at Mayor Daley’s Sports Fest at McCormick Place downtown when I was 11, the summer of 2005. When I started climbing the little portable wall that they had, it felt really fun and natural, and I signed up for a
class at LPAC a few weeks later.

Why did you join the EAC climbing team?
I joined the climbing team because I felt like I had improved as much as I could with the EAC youth league, and wanted to keep going and take my climbing to the next level. I was really psyched to climb with people who were serious about the sport and wanted to train hard and improve.

What keeps you motivated to keep climbing?
My main motivation to keep climbing is just a simple love of the sport — there are few things that I get more enjoyment out of than climbing a really good, challenging route. Aside for that, climbing keeps me in good shape and I love the people that I meet through it.
